Lineman receives 9th offer, 2nd from SEC

By Luke Holthouse

The University of Mississippi became the ninth college football program to offer a scholarship to offensive lineman Thomas Oser ’13 on Thursday, July 19. Ole Miss becomes the second school from the Southeastern Conference, widely regarded as the best conference in college football, to make an offer to Oser.

Ole Miss did not win a game in the SEC last year, going 0-8 in conference and 2-10 overall. The football program has produced over 25 current players in the National Football League.

Oser’s other eight offers include Stanford, Oregon, Washington State, Colorado and Utah from the Pacific-12 Conference;  New Mexico State from the Western Athletic Conference; San Diego State from the Mountain West Conference and Vanderbilt from the SEC.

Oser played center last year for the football team, but says he will make the switch to left tackle this season.
