Cross country runners place in Wayne Walker Invitational

After competing in the Woodbridge Invitational last weekend, the varsity cross country teams ran at the Wayne Walker Invitational at Craig Park on Saturday.

Following his third place finish last weekend, Ben Weissenbach ’15 took first in the boys’ Division II sophomore race, while co-captain David Manahan ’14 placed first in the junior race. In the freshman race, Wolverines swept the top three spots, as Jack Stovitz ’16, Henry Roskin ’16, and Jeffrey Ehlers ’16 crossed the finish line first, second, and third respectively.

For the girls, Lizzy Thomas finished third in the girls’ Division II junior race, while Lauren Jones ’16 took second in the girls’ small schools freshmen race.

The cross country teams get set to take part in their third invitational of the season at Palos Verdes on Saturday, Sept. 29., before their second league meet on Thursday, Oct. 4.
