The boys’ and girls’ swim teams beat Alemany today, with the girls finishing 102-62 and the boys finishing 93-77.

“I thought that the boys team swam very well today,” JV and varsity swimmer Derek Blumenfield ’20 said. “Alemany is not a bad team at all so it feels good that both teams were able to win. There are some races that we could have done better at but I’m just happy that we beat them.”

The boys team is 6-1 overall this season and the girls team is undefeated after both teams beat Saugus on Friday in a non-league meet.

“I’m very proud with the way we have competed during our league meets this year,” swimmer Eve Hookstratten ’20 said. “We have really improved and I think it shows in our record and now the league finals meet is coming up.”

The boys’ only loss came against Loyola on March 15.

“Loyola is always one of the best teams that we compete against,” Blumenfield said. “I would like to be undefeated but we are still 6-1 and we also finished first in the [Justin Carr Friday Night Lights meet] earlier this season which is an accomplishment.”

The girls have won every meet this season by more than 19 points except for the meet against Notre Dame on March 20 when they won by their lowest margin so far this season, 18 points.

The Mission League Prelims will be held on Monday and the Mission League Finals Meet is on Tuesday.
