Upper School Dean Kyle Graham will move to New York and will not be returning to Harvard-Westlake. Former college counselor and English teacher Jennifer Hunter Cardillo from Concord Academy in Massachusetts will fill Graham’s position.

Graham served as a dean for two years at the school and is now moving to New York City to join his wife who lives there working as an actress.

“My decision to leave Harvard-Westlake was incredibly difficult for me,” Graham said. “I routinely joke with my juniors and seniors that I love college counseling just about as much as anything in the world. The reason for the ‘just about’ is that my wife is at the top of that list.”

Carolyn Kim ’18, one of Graham’s students, said Graham helped her transition to the Upper School.

“He cared so deeply for both his job and his students in a way that’ll leave an impression on all of us long after he leaves,” Kim said.

Graham will leave for New York at the end of the month and said he will miss the community.

“The caliber of people I get to interact with on a daily basis at HW is awe-inspiring, and it’s the relationships-with students, faculty, staff and with the deans that I’ll miss the most,” Graham said.
