Courtney Corrin ’16 added another accolade to her impressive resume after being named Athlete of the Year by the Los Angeles Daily News for girls’ track. Corrin, along with Alex Florent ’15, was also named to the All-Area girls’ track first team on June 19.
Corrin wrapped up an impressive season by winning state and the New Balance National Outdoor championships for long jump. During her season she also set the national high school freshman record with a jump of 20 feet and 11 inches.
Florent’s first team worthy season included a second place finish at the state final for girls’ high jump. Florent was one of only 15 high school girls to clear 5 feet, 10 inches in the high jump.
Efe Agege ’14 and Lizzy Thomas ’14 were named to the Daily News’ All-Area girls’ track second team.
