Performing before an audience throughout southern California in Time Warner Cable’s “Game of the Week,” the varsity football team delivered a spectacle on the gridiron, as the Wolverines scored nine touchdowns and one safety to defeat Sylmar 65-24 and move to 4-0 on the season.
In one of the highest-scoring games in team history, the Wolverines had the Spartans’ number on both sides of the ball. The defense forced the safety and a fumble that it would recover, resulting in a touchdown. On offense, Harvard-Westlake broke through seven times, led by running back Garrett Robinson ’15, who rushed for a pair of touchdowns.
The Wolverines, off to one of their best starts in school history at 4-0 in head coach Scot Ruggles’s second season at the helm, will look to remain undefeated at the Homecoming game against Palisades Oct. 5.
