After finishing off its Mission League season in first place, the girls’ varsity volleyball team defeated El Toro in the first round of the CIF Playoffs in three sets.
The Wolverines took the first set 25-9, while closing out the second set 16-25. The squad was challenged in the third set of the match, but was able to defeat the Chargers in a down-to-the-wire 26-24 victory.
The team entered the match as the three seed in the bracket, and played a Chargers squad that had to qualify for the match by defeating Godinez High School in a wild card game monday.
The Wolverines will face the winner of Redlands East Valley and Foothill High School this Thursday.
