The track an field program qualified for 12 events at the CIF Prelims at Estancia High School last Saturday, and will participate at the CIF Finals this Saturday at Cerritos College to further qualify for the CIF Masters.
Lizzy Thomas ’14, team captain of the track and field team, was a number one qualifier for the 1600M with a 5:05.68 time a number two qualifier for the 3200M with a 11:02.81 time. Additionally, Efe Agege ’14 was a number one qualifier for the triple jump with a 38’2” jump, while Alex Florent ’15 was a number qualifier as well for a 5’3” high jump.
For the boy’s team, David Manahan ’14 was the only member of the squad to qualify for an event and will now run the 800M at the CIF Finals this weekend.
If the Wolverines compete well at the CIF Finals, they will qualify for the CIF Masters and have the opportunity to participate in the State Playoffs.
