After winning the Mission League Title, the girls’ track team followed up their victory with an equally impressive win at CIF Division-III Championship. Four Wolverines have claimed CIF Championships and three have set school records thus far at CIF Finals today at Cerritos College.
In her second year, Courtney Corrin ’16 won her second straight CIF title in the long jump with a leap of 19-feet, 9.5-inches. Alex Florent ’15 also captured her second career CIF Championship in the high jump, raising up 5-feet, 9-inches to take home the gold, and Efe Agege topped the triple jump with a total jump of 38-feet, 3.75-inches. David Manahan ’14 earned first place in the boys’ 800-meter, finishing with a time of 1:52.53.
Manahan and Shea Copeland ’15 have set school records in the boys’ 800-meter and the girls’ 100-meter respectively, Manahan with his race-winning time and Copeland with a time of 12.04. Imani Cook-Gist ’15 also set a school record in the girls’ pole vault with a vault of 10-feet, 9-inches.
Seven athletes in total qualified for the next round of CIF, CIF Masters.
