The school announced Feb. 4 that all Monday instruction would be remote due to storms in Los Angeles County. Independent schools Marlborough School and Brentwood Schoolwill also be closed for on-campus instruction as the county remains under flash flood warnings. The status of in-person instruction depends on current the weather conditions, but as of today, the school plans to resume on-campus classes Tuesday.
The storm is predicted to be “potentially historic” by the Los Angeles Times as rain forecasts rose by two inches across the county on Sunday. Much of the Los Angeles area faces evacuation warnings and potential life-threatening damage.
Campus was last closed in Sept. due to a water leak but has not been closed for weather related reasons since Jan. 10 of last year. Head of Upper School Beth Slattery said in an all-school email that all classes would be held virtually until the middle and upper school campuses can safely reopen.
“As you have heard by now, in-person classes are canceled for tomorrow because of current weather conditions,” Slattery said. “Please check your email for information from your teachers regarding tomorrow’s classes and how to find the relevant Zoom links.”
