Applications to be a peer tutor are due Sept. 24 either in Director of Student Affairs Jordan Church’s office or at the peer tutoring table at Activities Fair.
Peer tutoring gives upperclassmen a chance to tutor students in grades below them in subjects they feel comfortable tutoring in. Students also need to provide a teacher recommendation form which need to have been given to their teacher of choice on Sept. 21.
“People should sign up to be peer tutors because it’s a great way to give back to the HW community. As a tutor you meet new members of the community, become more patient, and get a better understanding of a subject by explaining it to others. There’s a great deal of satisfaction for the tutor when he/she sees his/her tutee improve in class,” said peer tutor coordinator Annie Wasserman ’13.
