English teacher Amber Caron will leave the school and move to England after this year’s first semester, and new teacher Megan Shakow will take over her classes.
Caron has taught English for five years and will move to Cambridge, England, with her husband, who has taken a job teaching and researching history at Cambridge University.
Caron’s husband recently completed his master’s degree and his PhD in history. He will continue his research in Cambridge for the next several years, while Caron hopes to take the spring off for personal time and to adjust to her new life..
“I’ll have a little bit of time in the spring to read and write and get used to living in England,” Caron said. “I’d like to teach again, and I’m not sure what that will look like. It might have to wait until I come back.”
For the remainder of the year, Shakow will take over Caron’s five English classes.
“Ms. Caron is an unbelievable teacher,” Andres Walker ’18 said. “I learned so much from her, and she will be dearly missed.”
