Chamber Singers will perform at the upcoming American Choral Directors Association Western Division Conference in Pasadena Feb. 26-27.
The conference will include exhibits, concerts and educational clinics at the First United Methodist Church.
The association selected the Chamber Singers as one of five high school choirs nationally. The ensemble spent three years recording and rehearsing in order to qualify for the chance to perform.
“I’m really excited to be able to sing at the highest level for a high school choir,” singer Michael Gavin ’18 said. “The idea is very cool that I will sing with Chamber Singers in front of over a thousand choral directors from across the nation.”
The ACDA is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to advance music education as well as choral music. ACDA offers seven division conferences every even-numbered year during February and March at the state, division and national levels.
