Coldwater Canyon has reopened to to traffic from both directions after a month-long closure, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power announced to the school. Although the street will be open at all times of the day, there will still be additional construction in the surrounding area.
Student drivers, parents and faculty will no longer need to display their Coldwater all-access placards to drive down the street, but construction might cause additional traffic or delays, Assistant to the Head of Upper School Michelle Bracken said in an e-mail to students. She cautioned drivers to continue allowing extra time in the morning to get to school.
The original timetable for the replacement of the water main underneath Coldwater had predicted that the closure phase of the construction would end April 25, just over a month after it began. LADWP signs posted at the intersection of Coldwater Canyon and Ventura Boulevard warn drivers that construction and related delays will continue through June 15, 2013.
