The Helping Hands club has begun attending group meetings at Kids Like Me, an eight-week program that teaches specialty skills to children and adolescents with developmental challenges.
“It’s a really fun way to interact with the kids while helping them at the same time,” club leader Irene Kao ’14 said. “The program is unique because the kids are doing things that they actually really enjoy, and they’re able to interact with kids like us.”
Club members are able to fulfill their community service requirements by assisting the children Mondays and Wednesdays at the Culver City or Sherman Oaks locations.
