Trout in Classroom program adviser Rudy Brown will speak to select AP Environment Science students about wild trout populations and their ongoing project Feb. 27 at the Upper School.
Brown serves as a contact for the regional TIC program, which the school applied to and received its accreditation to raise and release trout. The program is affiliated with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
Students received the trout eggs needed for the program Jan. 20 and will release the fish in March.
“I am very excited about this project,” Nick Tatham ’18 said. “We’re seeing the growth process in class every day which is cool.”
Brown will also speak more generally about overfishing, dam construction and water conservation to enhance students’ understanding of water and fish projects.
