The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards named 119 students as gold key, silver key and honorable mention recipients for the regional competition on Friday.
Sixteen students were awarded for writing and 103 were awarded for works of art or portfolios. Gold Key recipient work will advance to a panel of national judges.
“The number of students recognized with honorable mentions as well as silver and gold speaks to the strength of Harvard Westlake Visual Arts Department as a whole and student talent,” Visual Arts Teacher Joe Medina said.
