The Oceanography and Marine Biology class took a field trip to Rainbow Harbor in Long Beach for a boat ride April 19.
Science teacher Blaise Eitner led the trip. Once boarding the boat, the staff facilitated some activities and studies for the students.
“We began with throwing out a large net, and collectively pulling it back in, filled with sea creatures, like sting rays, shrimp, crabs, California lizardfish and more. We identified all the creatures and got to touch some of them,” Josue Gutierrez ’18 said.
The trip allowed students to learn outside of a typical classroom setting.
