A professor from the Department of Classics at the University of Southern California spoke about papyri in Greco-Roman Egypt to the students in Latin III Honors and Latin Literature Honors May 19.
Professor Christelle Fischer Bovet gave a history lesson on Alexander the Great and had the class translate quotes from Cicero. Bovet also instructed the class in a lesson on Greek and helped students translate their own papyrus.
“I didn’t really get the full effect of the study of papyrus, but I did find it an interesting topic that I could explore further,” Latin student Patrick Albarino ’16 said.
