Staff and faculty members will attend lunches to discuss the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion summer reading book, “Whistling Vivaldi: How Stereotypes Affect Us and What We Can Do” by Claude Steele throughout October.
After the staff expressed a wish for professional development in DEI, these meetings expanded from their original focus to training.
Steele will visit the campus to speak to faculty members about his studies on stereotypes as a way to further the school’s DEI initiative this year.
