United in Harmony hosted a toy drive and bake sale to encourage students and faculty to help impoverished children from Dec. 4th-8th on the quad.
United in Harmony counselor Natalie Blut ’18 said that the overall goal of the organization is to help underprivileged children develop positive self-esteem that will assist them in their future endeavors.
“I volunteer for many reasons, but the main one is because through this organization, I can make an immediate impact on the LA youth and genuinely connect with those children,’ Blut said.
Scarlett Strasberg ’20 said that the efforts of the organization have encouraged her to donate toys.
“I think we are just such a privileged community that any opportunity we have to give back and give people things that we’ve taken for granted as children is amazing,” Strasberg said.
