Robotics Club took 19 students to Rancho Mirage High School Feb. 27 for the Inland Empire FIRST Robotics Regional Competition.
The competition lasted until March 1 and the team played Recycle Rush, a recycling-themed game in which two teams of three robots each score points by properly disposing of game pieces.
The club started working on their robot Jan. 3 and finished 28th out of 38 teams.
“Our team made some really good modifications to the robot over the course of the competition which helped improve our ability to score points,” club adviser Karen Hutchison said.
The club is now looking ahead to the Los Angeles Regional Competition March 12-14 in Long Beach.
