Brian Bouchey was hired April 6 as the school’s new business manager.

“My core functions are to assist with the school’s accounting and finance function, while supporting the needs of the faculty and administrative staff,” Bouchey said.

Bouchey’s main job is to oversee and improve the school’s various major accounting systems, such as student financial needs and teacher payrolls.

Bouchey was previously a senior accounting manager at Anschutz Entertainment Group, a sports presenting company. AEG owns or is affiliated with several major sports arenas, including the Staples Center, the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace and BBVA Compass Center in Austin, Texas.

Bouchey was hired to help ease the pressure in the business office, as the position of financial controller has been vacant for the past 18 months.

“Although, in title, I am still CFO, the truth is that, over the past several years, I have invested ever more time in my Business of Life class, HW Scramble, HW Inc., HW Venture, and alumni relations,” CFO Rob Levin said. “This has required the present business manager, David Weil ’93, to shoulder an ever-heavier burden of CFO duties. And, this has, in turn, left him needing to replace both our financial controller and himself.”

Members of the business office expressed their excitement over Bouchey’s hiring.

“Our office staff works as a team in hiring, and we all came away extremely enthused about Brian,” Levin said. “He brings expertise, passion and proper priorities along with openness, warmth, positivity, humanity and great team spirit.”

Bouchey himself is also excited with his future at the school.

“I hope to be able to significantly contribute to the success of Harvard-Westlake in the years to come,” Bouchey said.
