Broadcast Journalism students, HWTV announcers and members of the Chronicle Sports crew visited FOX Sports to deepen their understanding of the real-life broadcasting world on Jan 20.
While there, students had an opportunity to see a live studio-based production of sports broadcasts and ask questions to professional anchors, Rob Stone and Donny Marshall.
Broadcast Journalism teacher and HWTV advisor Max Tash and Chronicle advisor Jim Burns said that they hoped to provide the Upper School students with the opportunity to participate in the online media trend, which has recently taken over the world of journalism.
Students said that they feel more informed about broadcast journalism following the trip.
“Being able to go to FOX Sports was a great opportunity to gain experience and insight into the daily operations of sports announcing,” HWTV crew member, Amelia Koblenz ’20, said. “It was so interesting to see all the work that goes into the broadcast that happens behind the scenes.”
