Past and present Chronicle staff members gathered outside of Weiler Hall June 8 to celebrate the retirement of Communications Department Head Kathy Neumeyer.
“It is not an understatement to say that Ms. Neumeyer changed my life,” Juliet Berman ’03 said. “She was the most impactful professor I ever had at Harvard-Westlake. I’m so glad to be here to celebrate with her.”
Alumni presented thank you speeches to Neumeyer, followed by her reflecting on her career in journalism and time as an advisor of The Chronicle.
“Mrs. Neumeyer really taught you a lot also about standing up for yourself when you have an idea,” Elizabeth Kaufman ’04 said. “I think that’s something that really carries you through life and I think that’s probably the most valuable thing she helped instill in me.”
