The Chronicle and HWTV received various awards from multiple national competitions in the past few months. The Chronicle received the Silver Crown Award from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association for overall excellence and the NSPA Online Pacemaker at the JEA/NSPA National High School Journalism Convention in San Francisco.
The submissions for these awards are judged by coverage and content, quality of writing and reporting, leadership, design and photography and graphics, according to the competition’s website. HWTV placed first place and received an honorable mention in the Student Television Network National Awards for the Live Sports Event.
“It’s fun to know that people from all over the world are watching our games,” communications teacher Max Tash said.
