After working in Germany for two years, Margot Riemer returned to the upper school world language department as a Spanish teacher. Prior to her departure, Riemer was a Spanish teacher at the school for 24 years.

Riemer was a Spanish teacher at the Berlin Bilingual School, where she said she developed and learned new teaching techniques, furthered her study of Spanish and passed a high-level Spanish test. Additionally, Riemer earned a graduates degree in language teaching with technology from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

“I’m eager to try some of the new tools and techniques that I’ve learned,” Riemer said. “I think some of them might fail, but I’m hoping to fail forward and learn something new and learn what works and what doesn’t. I’m also eager to collaborate with my students.”

Riemer said she is happy to return to the Harvard-Westlake community.

“I’m just excited to be back at Harvard Westlake because I consider it my second home,” Riemer said. “I love this school, and I’ve been here for so long, and I’ve missed it so much while I was gone.”
