HW Miles of Smiles hosted a Halloween-themed photo booth to support the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
According to the organizer of the photo booth, Taia Cheng ’19, the purpose of the booth was to benefit the school community by adding to the Halloween festivities of the day, while simultaneously raising money to fund children’s healthcare.
Students were charged $10 for 2 strips of pictures, and were provided with Halloween candy as well.
Participants said they appreciated the booth because it complemented the other themed activities on campus.
“I think the photo booth was pretty cool and a really decent effort in trying to include more fun aspects to the holiday and making Harvard- Westlake a more fun place to be at,” Loyal Terry ’19 said.
After having taken pictures, students had the option either to email the photos to themselves, print them or post them directly to their social media accounts.
Students also said they enjoyed the activity and hope this won’t be the last time the school hosts one.
“The photo booth was super fun and I loved taking pictures with all my friends in our costumes,” Emma Walther ’21 said.”It’d be really awesome if Harvard-Westlake kept this as a yearly thing”.
Overall, Cheng said that she is excited about donating the money to the Children’s Hospital, and hopes that it will encourage students to be thankful for their good health and be aware of those that are battling illness.
