Nothing was said as they lifted themselves from the pool. The team was despondent yet proud.

Even though they were irritated and disappointed with the loss, they left the pool with their heads held high.
The varsity boysâ water polo team was defeated by top seeded Northwood in the CIF semifinals 6-3.
The Wolverines got goals from Jeff Schwimer â07, Billy Evashwick â08 and Max Elliot â09. Along with a ten-save and two-steal effort from goalie Brian Pingree â07, but it wasnât enough to overcome Northwood, who has one of the top players in the country in Caleb Hamilton, who is being recruited by several Division I programs.
Prior to CIF the team went undefeated in league, which extended their undefeated streak in league to 10 consecutive seasons.
In what many people speculated would be an off-year for water polo, the teamd finished the regular season with a record of 22-4.
The Wolverines earned a CIF berth and beat Woodbridge 17-8 in their first-round match.
They followed suit, with another victory over Esperanza 7-5 in the CIF semi-finals, leading the way to their loss to Northwood.
