The red sea of Fanatics shirts parted and the girlsâ varsity volleyball team rolled up the Munger promenade in two red and black Mustang convertibles driven by the coaches. The parade last Monday honored the volleyball teamâs state championship. Two days earlier, the team swept Sacred Heart Cathedral of San Francisco in the CIF Division III State Finals match in San Jose.
âWe felt like we were on top of the world,â outside hitter KC Kanoff â08 said.
President Thomas C. Hudnut announced each playerâs name and congratulated them. Head coach Adam Black presented each player with a white Hawaiian lei to accompany their Southern California regional title and state championship medals. The school opted to have a 70-minute break during the day for the parade. The event was organized by the Prefect Council.
Free Jamba Juice smoothies, popcorn and cookies were served in the quad.Â
