During a manhunt for murder suspect Luis Solano, the school imposed some restrictions on students traveling off-campus, Head of School Jeanne Huybrechts said. The LAPD told news outlets that the suspect was armed and dangerous and advised people in the area to stay inside and lock their doors. Solano was apprehended at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Friday, according to NBC Los Angeles.
Executive Assistant to the Head of School Emily Kennedy sent an email to the upper school faculty informing them of the search. An additional email was sent out after Solano had been taken into custody.
Bridges Academy, Carpenter Avenue Elementary and Country School were on lockdown during the manhunt. Huybrechts said the security team was monitoring the situation closely throughout the afternoon.
