The debate team competed in the Tournament of Champions, a prestigious annual tournament during the first weekend of May, at the University of Kentucky last weekend.
Jake Sonnenberg ’11 advanced the farthest, reaching the octafinals where he competed in elimination rounds with 15 other students. Ben Sprung-Keyser ’11 and Michelle Choi ’12 each won at least five out of eight preliminary rounds, which led them to the double octafinals with 30 other debaters.
Though the tournament hosts competitions in several different styles of debate, all three debaters participated in the Lincoln-Douglas portion of the tournament.
