After getting knocked out of the CIF playoffs last season by Newport Harbor, the varsity field hockey team got their revenge in a 4-1 win on Thurs., Sept. 8.
Last year’s 0-1 overtime loss came in the semifinal round. Newport scored in the final seconds, eliminating Harvard-Westlake after their undefeated league season.
“Because they beat us last year, we definitely had a lot more spirit and conviction when we played them,” Taylor Lee ’13 said. “I was nervous because our team still had a few kinks, being new and everything, but I thought the game came easy because we played really well together.”
