The boys’ soccer team traveled to La Canada and went home with their first league win of the season against the St. Francis Knights by a score of 1-0.
The game started off really close as both teams were unable to capitalize on opportunities that they had to score in the box due to solid goalkeeping at both ends of the field.
The breakthrough for the Wolverines came in the final minute as Ty Gilhuly’s ’13 pass connected with forward Adam Winninger ’12 who was able found the back of the net and seal the deal.
“It was a great start to the season and I’m just glad we were able to pull through and win the game,” Wininger ’12 said.
The win comes a strong showing in the SoCal Classic Tournament where they won two of three games.
The team looks forward to their next match at home against league opponent Notre Dame as they try to improve on their current 10-1-2 record.
