Six members of the Junior Classical League will compete at a Certamen qualifier on March 3 at the Polytechnic School in Pasadena. Certamen is a team trivia competition that includes questions on a variety of topics such as Latin grammar and Greco-Roman mythology, JCL advisor and Latin teacher Derek Wilairat said.
If the team qualifies at the regional event, they will get a chance to compete in the actual competition at the California Junior Classical League State Convention in Atherton, Calif. Additional Latin students from the club will join the delegation to the convention in March, Wilairat said.
