Pitcher and third baseman Jack Flaherty ’14 verbally committed Wednesday to play for North Carolina.
Flaherty will join Wolverine teammate and Georgia Tech commit Arden Pabst ’13 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, better known as the ACC.
“I’m really lucky to have the opportunity to be going to a great school,” Flaherty said. “It has been a long process, but I am happy with the way things turned out.”
The Tar Heels went 46-16 in 2012, finishing 17th overall in Baseball America’s national rankings.
Los Angeles Times’ preps sports writer Eric Sondheimer expects Flaherty to be one of the top juniors in California this Spring.
