New businesses come to Sportmen’s Lodge

Restaurants, shops and a market are coming to the upscale complex The Shops at Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City.

The Shops at Sportsmen’s Lodge is replacing part of the Sportsmen’s Lodge Hotel, a landmark that has been in the San Fernando Valley since the 1880s. The Shops at Sportsmen’s Lodge will provide new experiences for both students and Studio City residents alike through dining, fashion and wellness.

The Shops at Sportsmen’s Lodge complex is located down Coldwater Canyon Avenue and to the right, on Ventura Boulevard. Being very close to the school,  The Shops at Sportsmen’s Lodge provides a convenient opportunity for seniors during lunch and upperclassmen after school to get food, snacks, or dessert.

Over the course of the coming months, various restaurants and shops will open at the complex. The Chronicle has provided a list of these new businesses and their opening dates, as well as descriptions of what they have to offer.

Civil Coffee

Cafe serving craft coffee, espresso and pastries, as well as light breakfast and lunch foods.

Erewhon

Southern California luxury supermarket chain offering organic and locally sourced foods as well as foods appealing to vegan, kosher and other alternative diets.

Roberta’s Pizzeria

Well-known American pizzeria selling wood-fired pizzas and other Italian foods.

Tocaya

Modern Mexican restaurant offering salads, tacos, burritos, bowls and quesadillas. Tocaya is rooted in traditional Mexican recipes, yet accommodates a variety of dietary preferences and restrictions including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free diets.

Tuesday’s Sweet Shoppe

A one-stop shop for all things candy, Tuesday’s Sweet Shoppe has a selection of over 200 types of bulk candy and is the perfect place for students with a sweet tooth.

Ushi Ushi

Sweet shop selling a variety of traditional Japanese treats such as Japanese mochi donuts, specialized coffee and matcha tea based drinks, fresh waffle fries with a variety of Japanese toppings and Hokkaido-style soft serve ice cream.

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream

Ice cream parlor offering a variety of flavors with real and healthier ingredients.

Hi-Ho Cheeseburger

Burger restaurant that exclusively serves 100% grass-fed Wagyu beef. Hi-Ho Cheeseburger sells a variety of different burgers, as well as classic pairings such as burgers with fries and milkshakes.

SUGARFISH

Sushi restaurant that exclusively serves traditional sushi based on Chef Kazunori Nozawa’s style of sushi. Nozawa shuns “American-style” rolls and fusion dishes, and instead concentrates on the purity of traditional dishes.
