One day after its first loss of the season, the varsity team resumed its winning ways with a 4-0 victory over Buckley on Saturday.
Logan Simon ’14 pitched four innings against Buckley while Michael Vokulich ’14 and Treven Goldsmith ’13 threw two and one innings respectively. Alex Horowitz ’13 and Arden Pabst ’13 each had two hits.
The non-League win came fresh off a Friday night 6-3 loss to Mission League opponent Loyola where the Wolverines found themselves in a 3-0 hole before tying the game 3-3 in the bottom of the fifth inning. Loyola preceded to score three unanswered runs in the final two innings to win 6-3.
The Wolverines now go into their Tuesday home game against Crespi 8-1 overall and 1-1 in League.
