A single game now stands between the varsity boys’ baseball team and the May 31 CIF Finals, to be held at Dodger Stadium.
The Wolverines 5-0 quarterfinals victory over Santa Margarita Friday was not unexpected, with the Wolverines ranked first in the country by this week’s Baseball America National Poll.
The team won behind a complete game shutout from pitcher Jack Flaherty ’14 and strong offensive performances by Brian Ginsberg ’14 and Arden Pabst ’13.
Semifinals are set for Tuesday, when the Wolverines will play Los Alamitos at 7 p.m. at Blair Field.
