The wrestling seasons of Jake Bracken ’14 and Jake Adler ’17 came to an end Feb. 27 at the CIF Southern Section Masters Meet.
Bracken came in third place Feb. 22 in CIF in the 132 lbs weight class and Adler came in fourth place in CIF in the 126 lbs weight class. Both Adler and Bracken advanced to the Masters Meet the next week where they won one match and lost two matches each.
Previously, Adler placed second in his weight class and Bracken won his weight class at Mission League Finals. Bracken and Adler were two of 10 Wolverine wrestlers that qualified for CIF Championship with their League Finals performances, and the only two to advance to CIF Masters.
“Jake and I had a really great season, [and] I’m really proud of both of us, and I think that we have both developed a lot both as wrestlers and as people,” Adler said. “We worked our butts off and in the end it showed. We had our ups and downs, but we have nothing to be ashamed of.”
With the wrestling season over, Bracken is playing with the baseball team in spring.
“We had a great [wrestling] season and I’m obviously upset that it’s over, but I’m excited to go on to the next level [in] college and compete with my guys on the baseball team,” Bracken said.
The wrestling team finished 1-3 overall in four league dual meets during the winter season.
