The field hockey team defeated Thousand Oaks High School 9-0 in a home game Friday afternoon.
Attacker Margaux Schlumberger ’27 recorded a hat trick, scoring two to start the game 2-0. The Wolverines maintained possession of the ball for the majority of the first half, but the Lancers defense was able to block passes into the shooting circle. They took advantage of penalty corners throughout the game, with attackers Georgia Grad ’25 and Olivia Roosa ’26 scoring off rebounds. Roosa scored again on a perimeter shot, making the score 5-0 to end the first half.
To start the second half, attacker Abby Ryan ’27 scored off another penalty corner and Schlumberger added another to tally her third for a score of 7-0. By the second half the Wolverines were in full control of possession, driving passes in from the wings and putting pressure on goal. Attackers Kayla Graff ’26 and Kara Horacek ’27 both scored once to cap the team’s scoring at nine.
The team improves to a record of 6-2, and will face Huntington Beach High School at home next Monday.
