Prefect Council hosted Valentine’s themed activities on the Quad during lunch on Feb. 18. During the event, students could decorate cookies, write love letters and participate in a partner game with a friend or significant other.
The game tested how well one knew their partner by having them answer questions about them and seeing how many they got right. The event was supposed to occur on Feb. 13 but was postponed due to rain.
Sophomore Prefect Charlotte Im ’27 said she loved hosting Valentine’s Day on the Quad.
“Valentine’s was great,” Im said. “I’m so glad that we got to do this and give everyone a little bit of a sugar rush. It was so cute to see.”
Im said that Prefect Council prepared for the event by buying cookies and frosting.
“For prep, we had to buy dozens and dozens of sugar cookies and loads of frosting,” Im said. “The amazing Mr. Wormald always helps us set up these events.”
Margaux Schlumberger ’27 said that cookie decorating made her happy and helped bring everybody together.
“It was so fun to come together as a community to celebrate Valentine’s Day,” Schlumberger said. “While messy, the cookie decorating on the quad brought me a lot of joy.”
Carter Tsao, who participated in the game, said he was encouraged to join the game by a friend and he had a great time playing.
“Valentine’s Day in the quad was fun, I was there to replace someone else’s partner, but I enjoyed it nonetheless,” Tsao said. “My friend’s partner bailed so I just filled in because he looked so desperate for a cash prize.”
