Conservation International member Gillian Wynn spoke to the Environmental Club on Oct. 23 about ways that students can volunteer for CI, a non-profit organization that works to protect nature and ecosystems. Wynn also spoke about how she became involved with environmental conservation.
“When I was in college, I took a great course called Pollution Politics in the Environment,” Wynn said. “That’s when I knew that at some point in my lifetime, I wanted to become more actively involved in conservation.”
Environmental Club member Anja Clark ’19 said she was inspired by the presentation.
“I think it’s really exciting that Harvard-Westlake students are given this opportunity to volunteer and make a difference,” Clark said.
Wynn invited students to volunteer at CI’s annual fundraising event Nov. 2 in exchange for community service credit.
