In the final league game of the year, the boys’ water polo team routed St. Francis 25-0. The water polo team at St. Francis was formed just two years ago.
Compared to a record of 25-2 last year, the Wolverines barely scraped a winning record this year, at 15-12. The team again dominated league, with an average margin of victory of nearly 17 goals.
With the first round of CIF starting Nov. 2, players said they recognize the team’s offensive struggles and plan to rely on fundamentals.
“We are relying on being the most controlled and disciplined team out there so that we can dominate possession time and control the game,” attacker Alex Bucur ’19 said.
The team’s first opponent in CIF is yet to be determined.
