Students, faculty, alumni and community members honored Associate Head of School Liz Resnick at a memorial service in Saperstein Theater on April 14.
President Rick Commons and Resnick’s college roommate, Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey, shared both personal and professional stories about Resnick, including what Head of Middle School Jon Wimbish dubbed ‘lizisms,’ unique phrases that Resnick frequently used.
Cantor Chayim Frenkel gave attendees time to introduce themselves to someone they did not know and explain their connections to Resnick. Prior to reciting the Mourner’s Kaddish prayer, Frenkel asked the audience to rise and give Resnick a standing ovation.
Frenkel, joined by Erin Landau ’11 and Maya Landau ’13, sang the Hebrew blessing, L’dor Vador, meaning from generation to generation.
The service ended with Resnick’s high school friends leading the audience in a rendition of one of Resnick’s favorite songs, “Rainbow Connection.”
