After four years with Student Council and one with the new student government, Suzanne Lee is stepping down from her position as adviser effective the end of this year, she said in a surprise e-mail to members of student government and the administration Feb. 25. Lee will serve as co-adviser with history teacher Laurence Klein until June, after which she will remain as a math teacher.
After this yearâs merger of Student Council and the Honor Board, things are different, Lee said.
âThey are still working on structure and responsibilities,â Lee said. âSomeone else can start off fresh with new ideas. I had a blast doing the job, but I think itâs about time that I let someone new come in.â
Lee instituted Student Councilâs all-grade meetings, took charge of planning prom and started organizing clubs when she started with Student Council five years ago.
âStudent Council was initially not as structured,â she said. âI incorporated weekly meetings for all grades so that they could communicate within the leaders.â
