For the second time in two weeks, boys’ varsity basketball vanquished chief rival Loyola, this time in Loyola’s gymnasium Friday night, with a 77-63 win.
Erik Swoope ’10 scored 37 points, giving the Wolverines a perfect 9-0 record in Mission League play.
The boys’ varsity basketball team defeated league rival Loyola, 74-70, Jan. 25 night in Taper Gymnasium.
The game was dominated by Swoope, who had a game high 35 points with five dunks that ignited the raucous Wolverine crowd.
Loyola entered the 4th quarter with a 64-58 lead and was up with as little as four minutes left in the fourth quarter, but in the end, the size of Swoope was too much.
As fans mobbed Swoope at midcourt, he bellowed “Let’s go” to the crowd, pounding his chest one final time.
