The Genocide and Awareness Activism Club sent a delegation of nine students and one parent to the Jewish World Watch Walk to End Genocide. The club raised over $300 for the walk.
These students joined about 2,200 other walkers from the greater Los Angeles area for the event, which took place at Warren Park this past Sunday, April 10. After the walk, there was an awareness fair where walkers could learn about the various human rights abuses and different campaigns attempting to counteract them.
“I think that we showed our commitment to raising awareness about the genocide and problems in Sudan as well as advocating on behalf of the people suffering there,” club co-president Federica Brecha said.
