The Harvard-Westlake African-American Alumni Network will host a Night of Speed Networking on Thursday, Sept. 27 for students to learn about prospective careers. Alumni from the class of ’12 to the class of ’97 are also invited to attend the event at the upper school campus.
Alumni have been chosen to “speak about their career, their career path and what struggles or accomplishments they encountered along the way,” Alumni Administrator Janiece Richard said.
These alumni will present their experiences in the industries of finance, healthcare, law, real estate, nonprofit, hospitality, entertainment and education.
High school students will also be able to learn more about the HW Job Board, which allows alumni to find or offer jobs within the Harvard-Westlake network. The first of its kind, the event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m, and additional industries and panelists may be added.
