Following a loss to Crespi on Jan. 4, the boys’ varsity basketball team picked up its first victory in league play this season Monday at home against Notre Dame, just outlasting the Knights 56-55.
Forward Derick Newton ’14 once again led the Wolverines in scoring with 30 points.
The Wolverines are now 10-4 on the season, and will face Chaminade and Alemany at home on Jan. 9 and Jan. 11 respectively before heading on the road to face St. Francis on Jan. 14.
